World Cup 2014 squads: Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani headline Uruguay roster - Óscar Tabárez has named his 30-man provision squad that includes strikers Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani.
Uruguay have begun preparations for next month's World Cup in Brazil with the announcement of their 30-man provisional roster on Tuesday. Strikers Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani are the big names on a roster that features no real surprises.
Suárez is coming off his best season as a professional, leading Liverpool to a second place finish in the Premier League. The striker won two major individual awards and led the EPL with 31 goals. Cavani scored 25 goals for Paris Saint-Germain this season across all competitions.
Several players, including Gastón Ramírez, José María Giménez, Cristian Rodríguez, Alejandro Silva, Abel Hernández and Christian Stuani, could all get a chance to make their World Cup debut.
Uruguay will play friendlies against Northern Ireland and Slovenia before beginning World Cup group stage play on June 14 against Costa Rica.
