World Cup 2014 squads: Belgium name 24 - Belgium manager Marc Wilmots has named an extremely talented, Premier League-heavy 24-man provisional squad for this summer's World Cup.

Belgium, one of the official Dark Horses of the summer, have today named a 24-man squad ahead of the World Cup.

Manchester United teenager Adnan Januzaj makes the squad, having recently chosen Belgium from among the broad spread of nations available to him. He joins a squad oozing talent in every department: Thibaut Courtois in goal, Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermaelen in defence, and Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku leading the attack.

The only real surprise comes up front, in the shape of Lille's nineteen-year-old forward Diyock Origi. The teenager, who is also eligible for Kenya, has scored six goals for Lille this season, usually coming off the bench. Otherwise, the squad has been named largely as expected. Perhaps the most notable absentee is Radja Nainggolan, who only made the standby list; manager Marc Wilmots explained that "it was him or Defour".

Wilmots has also remained loyal to Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Dembélé and Nacer Chadli, despite Tottenham's disappointing season. One of the goalkeepers, likely either Koen Castels or veteran Silvio Proto, will be cut before the final squad is confirmed.

Goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois (Atletíco Madrid/Chelsea), Simon Mignolet (Liverpool), Koen Casteels (1899 Hoffenheim), Silvio Proto (Anderlecht)

Defenders: Toby Alderweireld (Atletíco Madrid), Anthony Vanden Borre (Anderlecht), Laurent Ciman (Standard Liège), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Daniel van Buyten (Bayern Munich), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Nicolas Lombaerts (FC Zenit), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Axel Witsel (FC Zenit), Steven Defour (Porto), Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United), Moussa Dembélé (Tottenham Hotspur), Nacer Chadli (Tottenham Hotspur), Kevin de Bruyne (VfL Wolfsburg)

Forwards: Romelu Lukaku (Everton/Chelsea), Divock Origi (Lille), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Dries Mertens (Napoli), Kevin Mirallas (Everton), Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United)

Standby: Radja Nainggolan (AS Roma), Sébastien Pocognoli (Hannover 96), Thorgan Hazard (Zulte Waregem/Chelsea), Jean-François Gillet (Torino), Michy Batshuayi (Standard Liège), Jelle Van Damme (Standard Liège) // ( sbnation.com )
